Queensborough is located on an attractive 37-acre campus in residential Bayside, Queens. All degree programs are based on a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences.
Founded in 1959, Queensborough now has more than more than 45,000 alumni, most of whom live and work in the New York metro region. Enrichment programs and strong student support services enable Queensborough students to succeed academically and professionally.

Liberal Arts and Sciences
This is the choice for students planning to transfer to a senior college to complete a bachelor's degree. Students planning to obtain a bachelor's degree in fields such as education, communications, fine arts, social science, etc., should select Liberal Arts-AA degree. Students interested in transferring into baccalaureate programs in such fields as science, mathematics, pharmacy, occupational therapy, engineering science, and computer science should select Sciences-AS degree. Liberal arts and sciences are offered at every community college in CUNY.

Special Programs
Academies are a special initiative designed to ease the transition to college life and enrich the educational experience at Queensborough. They provide a structured learning environment for a small community of students with similar interests, encouraging collaboration with fellow students in common degree programs and with faculty both in and out of the classroom. Students are assisted in creating a clear academic plan for realizing their goals at Queensborough.
Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (AMP) prepares minority students for professional positions in science, engineering, mathematics, and the technologies through instructional support, faculty mentoring, and independent research projects.
College Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP): Counseling and instructional services for minority students pursuing careers in science, technology, and health-related fields, or careers requiring licensure.
Cooperative Education: Business programs (accounting, computer information systems, management, office administration and technology); health professions; journalism; mathematics; mechanical engineering technology and design drafting; medical assisting; chemistry; electrical and computer engineering technology; and speech and media communication.
Honors Scholars Program is geared to high-achieving incoming high school students. Internships in art, theater, music, health science, mathematics, teaching, and urban studies are available to Honors Scholars.
Internship opportunities are available in all major fields of study including accounting, business, social work, technology, public service and health care. Students have the opportunity to meet with an Internship Coordinator to discuss internships and to receive advisement related to career development.
Services for Students with Disabilities Queensborough takes great pride in the success of all of its students and is committed to providing opportunities and access to individuals with disabilities in all programs offered by the college. The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities facilitates the services and supports that foster independence and student development on all levels.
Facts
- Outstanding academic facilities include the latest instructional technology, laboratories, and computer equipment. The college offers wireless Internet connectivity throughout the entire campus.
- The campus houses an astronomy observatory, a recital hall, a professional sound recording studio, art and dance studios, photography and digital art laboratories, a 900-seat professional theater, and the Kurt R. Schmeller Library Building, which holds more than 150,000 volumes.
- The campus features the Student Union, the Campus Learning Center, the experimental Shadowbox Theater, and a day care center for children of Queensborough students.
- All students and faculty members have access to Robert F. Kennedy Hall, which contains a fitness center, gymnasium, aquatic center, tennis courts, and an indoor track.
- The Campus Learning Center and the Campus Writing Center, located in the Kurt R. Schmeller Library Building at the center of campus, provides Queensborough students with supplementary academic assistance in any for-credit course. Services include one-on-one and small-group tutoring.
- The Kenneth and Harriet Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives presents annual exhibitions and numerous lectures, films and events each semester, serving as a learning laboratory for students as well as a unique resource to the greater Queens community.
- The acclaimed QCC Art Gallery offers a rotating schedule of world-class exhibits, such as Andy Warhol prints and works by Picasso. Its permanent collection includes significant holdings of African art as well as works by Latino artists.
- A Performing Arts Series of dance, musical theatre, comedy and more is presented by the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC), also the home of the Queens Symphony Orchestra and the Oratorio Society of Queens.
- The great majority of Queensborough students who earn the Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees transfer to senior colleges to complete their bachelor's degrees. About half those who earn the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) also go on to senior colleges.
- A survey designed to track students after graduation showed that approximately 80% percent of Queensborough alumni were employed full time. More than 86 percent held jobs related to their degrees, and more than half were looking forward to advancement in their careers. The study also showed that nearly 40 percent of Queensborough alumni were pursuing a bachelor's degree within one year of graduation.

Subway & Bus:
#7 to Main Street, Flushing, then take the Q27 bus to the College campus; or the Q12 bus to Cloverdale Boulevard and Northern Boulevard; or the F train to 169th Street and Hillside Avenue, then take the Q30 bus via Horace Harding Boulevard to Springfield Boulevard. Walk three blocks north to 56th Avenue. You may also take the E or J train to Parsons Boulevard and Archer Avenue, and then take the Q30 bus.
Train: LIRR to Queens Village Station, and then the Q27 bus to the College campus; or LIRR to Bayside Station, the Q31 bus to 48th Avenue and Bell Boulevard, and transfer to the Q27 bus to College campus.
