- The QCC Clinical Nursing Program is the metropolitan area's largest, and its graduates regularly pass the State Licensure Exam at an impressive rate of more than 90%.
- QCC is the only trainer of technicians in Laser and Fiber Optics technology in the metropolitan area, and its students have access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment funded by the National Science Foundation.
- Graduates from the College's Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology program, the largest of its kind in the state, are widely sought after by such corporations as Bell Labs, DEC, Eastman Kodak, Con-Ed, and Grumman Aerospace.
- Unique to CUNY is the Music Electronic Technology program, which focuses on innovative integration of computer, electronic, musical, and recording studio training. Its graduates move into jobs in commercial recording, manufacture of instruments, and radio and television studios.
- For more than 25 years the College's External Education for the Homebound program has pioneered higher education and subsequent employment for students unable to leave their home or hospital. The campus Office of Disabled Students serves 400 disabled students (the largest number at CUNY) with a variety of special equipment for the visually impaired.
- The Tech-Prep Consortium of Queens, one of 30 such school-to-work programs in the state, provides business and technical education beginning in the 11th grade. The program, involving five Queens high schools and two Queens intermediate schools, currently serves more than 600 students and boasts a 95% rate of college matriculation.
