Public
hearings are held, under the supervision of The Board of Trustees,
in each New York City borough. Trustees, the University Chancellor,
College Presidents and members of the Chancellery attend the hearings
and are available to answer questions. A schedule of hearing dates
is regularly published on the University website and in other media.
If you wish to find out more information about the hearings, you
may also call the office of the secretary at 212-794-5450.
According to New York State Education Law, “The Board of Trustees
shall hold at least one public hearing each year in the five boroughs
of the City of New York. The purpose of such hearings shall be to
receive testimony and statements from concerned individuals about
university issues.”
The City University of New York, the nation’s largest urban public university, includes 11 senior colleges, six community colleges, the CUNY Graduate School and University Center, the CUNY Law School, the Graduate School of Journalism and the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education.
