Round Becomes Square (New Technology Replaces Old)
December 31, 1994 will be the last day that "round" tapes will be stored in the CUNY/CIS Tape Library. No round (3420) tapes may be entered permanently into the Tape Library currently, and in January 1995, all remaining round tapes will be returned to their home campus, care of the Campus Liaison Officer. CUNY/CIS is assisting users who need to copy data from round tapes to square cartridges (3480s). Round 3420 tapes may continue to be entered for temporary, 24-hour residence time. See your Campus Liaison Officer for further details.
