Software Licensed to CUNY

CUNY has either a license or a discount buying agreement with the companies below. The software products available from each are listed on the following pages. For more information, contact your Campus Site License Coordinator (see: People You Should Know on Campus)

Borland: License is for software on list. To be used only on campus-owned computers, on or off campus. Special student purchase prices available.

Corel: "CLP Universal Academic Agreement"provides volume buying discounts to all departments, no minimum, for licenses and maintenance of all software for use on campus-owned computers as well as home computers of faculty and staff. Software and documentation also available. Contact Campus Coordinator for details of ordering.

Macromedia: Authorware Professional licensed to CUNY for use on campus only. Upgrades and other Macromedia products available at volume discount from the reseller, Edutech. Contact Campus Coordinator for details.

McAfee: Discount purchase through individual campus agreements

Microsoft: "Select" volume educational purchase plan through designated reseller. Includes software and systems licenses, documentation and media. No minimum order. Contact Campus Coordinator for prices and ordering procedures. Support is not included.

Pegasus: CUNY license for DOS, Mac, Windows manuals. (Mail Software is public domain.)

SAS, Inc.: Licensed for faculty, staff, and faculty-sponsored student use ( fee for individual use).

SPSS, Inc.: Licensed for departments, faculty, staff. Students on campus computers only. Student packs available through college bookstores.

Trumpet: Trumpet Winsock and Trumpet for Windows licensed to CUNY campuses.

Waterloo: MAPLE (Math Computation) licensed to sites with math major in all platforms. For use on campus- owned computers, and home use of employees for university-related work. Renewal to be paid by local campuses.

Yale U.: Software free to faculty, staff and students, NOT for commercial use.

There are educational discount agreements with Novell (called VLA). Purchases can be made through the same reseller as that used for Corel.
