CUNY CIS and "For Your Electronic Information"

CUNY/CIS serves as CUNY's central computing facility. Our computing resources are also available to universities and other nonprofit organizations for a minimal fee. CUNY/CIS is connected via the Internet to many educational institutions and other organizations. The primary Internet node for CUNY/CIS is CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU.

Computers at CUNY/CIS include a partitioned IBM 3090-600J with Vector Facility, operating under MVS/ESA and JES3, and VM/ESA. Dialup telephone numbers for these systems are: (212) 974-8680 for 9600 bps and (212) 974-8600 for IBM 7171 300/1200 /2400 bps. The CUNY/CIS Support Center (CTRCU) may be contacted at (212) 541-0981.

FYeI provides ongoing information about technology of interest to the user community. It is available on the CUNY WWW Home Page (http://www.cuny.edu). Copies of current and back issues (formerly known as Communications) are available at the CUNY/CIS Help Desk; they will also be sent upon request to CUNY personnel or students. Anyone wishing to receive copies of the newsletter through the campus mail, should write to :
