Chancellor’s Statement on British University Boycott

June 4, 2007 | News from the Chancellor

“The recent boycott motion passed by Britain’s University and College Union against scholars who work in Israeli universities deeply puzzles and disappoints me. There is no place in the global theater of open scholarly exchange for such damaging actions. On the contrary, what we need is the encouragement and expansion of interaction across borders among researchers who have important findings to contribute for review and discussion. I hope that those responsible for this misguided call for a boycott quickly rescind their directive.”
