Health Insurance Plans

The 2010 Transfer Period for the Health Insurance Plans is November 1 through November 30. During this period, you can:

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Program

November 2010

The 2010 Open Enrollment/Transfer Period for the Flexible Spending Accounts Program is September 27, 2010 – November 19, 2010.

PSC-CUNY Dental

November 2010

The PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund Dental Plan change period will be from Nov. 1, 2010 through Nov. 30, 2010. During this time, PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund participants and benefits-eligible employees can change their dental coverage provider.

Federal Legislation For Young Adult Coverage To Age 26

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) specifies that extension of dependent coverage for children under the age of 26 is effective for plan years beginning on or after September 23, 2010.

US Savings Bonds Program Changes

If you are currently enrolled in the Savings Bond program, you may have received notice from the US Department of Treasury that they are eliminating their program allowing employees to purchase paper US Savings Bonds through payroll deduction as of January 1, 2011.

Update Your Beneficiary Designation Information

If you have experienced any family status changes (marriage, birth of child, adoption of child, divorce, or death) since your initial appointment to Central Office and have not updated your beneficiary designation form, please do so now.

COHR Staff Changes

I am pleased to announce that Ms. Jing Wu has accepted the HR Benefits Manager position in Central Office Human Resources. In her new role, Jing will administer the various benefit programs offered by CUNY, including health insurance, welfare funds, transit and pension plans.
