Central Office Human Resources held an employee appreciation and wellness event at the University Application Processing Center (UAPC) on Friday June 24, focusing on heart health and general wellness. Several vendors provided information on holistic health, nutrition, and stress reduction. A chiropractor conducted back and neck screenings and a medical practitioner performed blood pressure screenings, while some employees got on-site chair massages.
Stress Is Gone, a vendor specializing in holistic stress reduction, demonstrated its ‘Real-Time Technique’ to help staff assess the source of their stress, practice simple meditation and breathing exercises, and act in positive and controlled ways during high-stress situations. Congratulations to the 24 employees who won various raffle prizes.
We received tremendous positive feedback from the UAPC employees who expressed their enjoyment of the health screenings and mini-stress reduction sessions. Based upon this, we plan to conduct another employee appreciation and wellness event on October 5 at the New Community College for our other Central Office locations. Stay tuned for more information.
