Smoke-Free Workplace

October 2013

The Tobacco Policy was expanded by the Board of Trustees on January 24, 2011, making CUNY the largest smoke-free public university system in the United States.  Effective September 4, 2012, the use of tobacco on all CUNY grounds, entrances and exits, and facilities both indoor and outdoor under CUNY jurisdiction is prohibited. This includes tobacco industry promotions and marketing, as well as tobacco industry sponsorship of athletic events and athletes. Please take a moment to view the following link for information on a Tobacco Free CUNY:  http://www.cuny.edu/about/resources/healthycuny/tobaccofreecuny/faqs.html

As a reminder, all CUNY faculty and staff are covered by the CUNY Work/Life Program administered by Corporate Counseling Associates (CCA). A team of experienced CCA counselors are available 24/7 to assist in smoking cessation.  If you’d like to speak with a representative you may visit their website at www.myccaonline.com , using the company code CUNY, or 1-800-833-8707.
