CUNY Policy on Sexual Misconduct

December 2018

CUNY Board of Trustees recently revised CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct. This policy covers all forms of sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and sexual violence, including forms of domestic, dating and intimate partner violence and stalking. All employees are expected to maintain an environment free from harassment, discrimination and violence. In addition, certain employees, including managers and supervisors, are designated as “responsible employees” and are required to report instances of sexual misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator. Sexual harassment is considered a form of employee misconduct, and an employee who engages in such conduct, or managerial and supervisory personnel who knowingly allow such behavior to continue, shall be subject to discipline in accordance with applicable rules, policies and collective bargaining agreements.
