Important Changes to your GHI-CBP, HIP HMO, DC37 Med Team Plans

Through the joint efforts of the City of New York Office of Labor Relations and the City’s Unions, represented by the Municipal Labor Committee, there are important changes to the GHI Comprehensive Benefits Plan (CBP) and Empire BlueCross BlueShield Plan, the HIP HMO plan, and DC37 Med Team plan that will become effective on July 1, 2016.

Discounted Weight Watchers Memberships

The City of New York and its unions have partnered with Weight Watchers to offer a weight loss and health improvement program to employees at a special price. As part of the WorkWell NYC health and wellness initiative, beginning on June 1, 2016, NYC will be covering half of the cost of Weight Watchers programs for employees eligible for health benefits.

Pre-Retirement Seminars

WageWorks Pre-Tax Limit Increase

Effective January 1, 2016, the monthly maximum for the WageWorks Park-n-Ride and Commuter Benefit Plans is $255, with a bi-weekly maximum of $127.50.

Changes to Your GHI-CBP/EBCBS Plans

Phased Retirement Continuation

The University is pleased to announce that the Voluntary Phased Retirement Program for eligible members of the PSC-represented teaching and non-teaching instructional staff will be continued. This program enables long-standing members of the faculty and staff to continue to work for the University on a part-time basis while they transition into retirement or explore new opportunities.

Coming January 1 – New PSC Welfare Fund Prescription Drug Provider

We are pleased to announce that the PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund has made a change in the company with whom we contract to provide members their prescription drug benefit. As of January 1, 2016, the Fund’s drug benefit will be provided through CVS/Caremark for active employees, and through its affiliate, SilverScript, for Medicare-eligible retirees.
