Families in the Pelham Parkway community had another year of fun and safe Halloween activities this year, thanks to the hard work and planning of CUNY Prep students.
The annual Halloween Carnival featured dancing, games and even a haunted house completely designed and orchestrated by the students themselves. The free event has been a tradition since the school first opened in 2003, but it has grown significantly over time and hundreds enjoyed this year’s carnival, which ran from 3-5pm on Thursday, October 31.
“Our students come up with all sorts of creative ways to entertain the younger kids and this year’s event was the best yet,” says Principal and Director Jenny Ristenbatt. “Community service is a big focus at our school and the neighborhood has come to really depend on us to provide a safe, family-friendly Halloween alternative.”
