Patricia A. MacCubbin, Director of the Office of Research Conduct at The City University of New York (CUNY) and the Research Foundation, will be the guest speaker at the next Environmental Health and Safety Officer (EHSO) Council meeting, which is being held on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College from 12 pm to 2 pm. Patricia will give an overview of the CUNY Institutional Review Board and will discuss research with human subjects. Howard N. Apsan, University Director of the Office Environmental Health and Safety at CUNY serves as Chair of the EHSO Council meetings, which are held monthly at different campuses throughout CUNY. The EHSO Council meetings, which provide field training for CUNY EHSOs as well as insight to pertinent environmental issues, feature a variety of guests who discuss a broad range of environmental, scientific, and health and safety related topics. The March EHSO Council meeting will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Lehman College and will feature a training course in chemical hazard communication provided by Kurt Klein, Health and Safety Manager of the CUNY Office of Environmental Health and Safety (CUNY EHS), and Bill Knoop, Project Manager of CUNY EHS.
