Theater Safety Training Seminar at New York City College of Technology, April 19, 2006

The CUNY Office of Environmental Health and Safety and the Health and Safety Subcommittee of the EHSO Council will host a Theater Safety Training Seminar at the New York City College of Technology (NYCCT) on April 19, 2006 from 8am to 3pm. The training, which will be led by Monona Rossol, Industrial Hygienist and President / Founder of Arts, Crafts, and Theater Safety, Inc., will highlight topics such as hazard communication for make-up and fog effects, scene shop safety, fall protection for fly rails and lighting trusses, and general safety tips for other theater related hazards. The training seminar is free to all CUNY faculty, students and staff, and is meant for all those who work in the performing arts. Those who attend will receive a CUNY Theater Safety Training Certificate. The beginning session of the seminar will be held in the Klitgord Auditorium at 285 Jay Street, followed by lunch courtesy of the CUNY Office of Environmental Health and Safety, in the Voorhees cafeteria. The afternoon session will include a walkthrough of the NYCCT Voorhees Theater and workshops at 186 Jay Street in Brooklyn.
