Lehman College to Give Free Classical Music Recital Dec. 13

BRONX, NY-Classical pianist and Lehman faculty member Joanne Chang will celebrate the music of Bach, Debussy and Mozart in a special faculty recital on Tuesday, December 13, at 12:30 p.m., in Room 330 of the Lehman College Music Building. The public is invited to attend this free concert.

The program will feature music from various styles: Bach’s English Suite No. 3 in A minor, Debussy’s Bergamasque Suite and Mozart’s Sonata in C major.

A graduate of Griffith University’s Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Australia, Professor Chang has performed as a recitalist, a soloist with an orchestra, and in various chamber music ensembles. Recent performances include a recital tour in Taiwan and a performance in Faust Harrison Piano’s series “Pianists for the New Millennium,” as well as a concert tour in Switzerland. Professor Chang has also performed at New York City’s Merkin Hall and Symphony Space.

Her upcoming engagements include piano recitals at Smith Hall in South Carolina, Steinway Hall and Carnegie Weill Hall in New York City, and a concert tour in Australia.

A senior college of the City University of New York, Lehman is located on Goulden Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard in the northwest Bronx and is accessible by bus as well as the #4 and “D” subway lines.
