BRONX, NY — The Lehman Chamber Players will open the musical season at Lehman College with a performance of works by Schumann, Ravel and Dvorak on Sunday, October 1. The public is invited to the free concert, which will be held at 2 p.m. in the Recital Hall on the third floor of the Music Building. Seating is limited.
Featured will be the critically acclaimed cellist Andre Emelianoff who is on the faculty of the Juilliard School; violinist Anton Miller, professor of violin at New York University and the Hartt College of Music in Connecticut; and pianist Diana Mittler-Battipaglia, professor of music and choral director at Lehman.
The program will include six canonic pieces by Schumann to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death, and two major masterworks: the Trio in A minor by Ravel and Trio in F minor opus 65 by Dvorak.
A senior college within the City University of New York, Lehman is located on Goulden Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard West in the northwest Bronx and is accessible by bus as well as the #4 and “D” subway lines.
