Assemblyman William Scarborough is sponsoring an Environmental Summit co-sponsored by York College and New York City Councilman Leroy Comrie, Friday, April 13, 2007, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., in the Faculty Dining Room. Topics will include Global Warming, Brown Fields, Air Quality, Water Table, Sewers, Jamaica Bay and Parks and Wetlands.
“These topics raise very serious issues which affect us all,” said York College President Marcia V. Keizs. “We’re proud to welcome to our campus the many distinguished panelists who will address them and increase our understanding of what lies ahead.”
Presentations will be made by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Natural Resources Defense Council, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, and the Sierra Club.
