York College Committee Presents Annual MLK JR and Black History Month Exhibit and Celebration

The York College/Community Commemorative Quilt Committee (YCCCQC) will host its 9th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month Art, Memorabilia, Poetry, Quilt Exhibition and Celebration on Sunday, January 13 at the York College Performing Arts Center at 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.

The art exhibition opening reception will commence at 1:30 p.m. and the reception at 3:15 p.m. Charles Lilly, the event’s curator, is an accomplished artist famous for his Budweiser series, “Great Kings of Africa” featured in Jet and Ebony magazines in the late ’70s and ’80s. The event is free and open to the public and free on-campus parking is also available.

The York College Quilt Community Commemorative Quilt Committee raises scholarship funds for deserving York College students.

“Their selfless service to the college and to our students has made a huge impact,” said President Marcia V. Keizs.
