Women and minority entrepreneurs will get a chance to learn about contracts and procurement programs with the City University of New York at “CUNY Is Opportunity: Doing Business with the Nation’s Largest Urban Public University,” a free event on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The session will be held at Baruch College’s Newman Conference Center on the seventh floor of 151, East 25th Street.
Attendees will receive information about opportunities within the City University system open to New York State-certified Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (or M/WBE) vendors. A series of workshops will be offered to help participants navigate the certification and CUNY procurement process. In addition, a marketplace made up of representatives of CUNY’s 23 colleges, graduate and professional schools, and affiliated programs will provide participants with information about specific business opportunities. Business owners will be able to network and market their goods and services directly to the CUNY purchasing representatives.
