Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, New York Community Bancorp., Inc. Joseph R. Ficalora is the featured speaker at the York College (www.york.cuny.edu) Executive Leadership Breakfast hosted by President Marcia V. Keizs Friday, October 23, 2009, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m., in the Faculty Dining Room, Academic Core Building, 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., Jamaica, NY. Ficalora will be discussing the “State of Banking and the Economy in 2009 and Beyond.” New York Community Bancorp, Inc. is the $32.9 billion multi-bank holding company for New York Community Bank–a savings bank with 177 branches serving customers throughout the Metro New York region and central and northern New Jersey–and New York Commercial Bank, with 35 branches in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, and Westchester County in New York.
Ficalora has been President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. since its inception on July 20, 1993 and President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of its primary subsidiaries, New York Community Bank and New York Commercial Bank, since January 1, 1994 and December 30, 2005, respectively.
He is an active participant in community affairs as a member of the Board of Directors of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, President of the Queens Library Foundation Board, and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Queens Borough Public Library, the New York Hall of Science, Flushing Cemetery, and the Advisory Council of the Queens Museum of Art.
