SPS Announces its First Annual Appeal

December 3, 2010 | School of Professional Studies

The CUNY School of Professional Studies (SPS) is pleased to announce the launch of its first Annual Appeal on Monday, December 6, 2010. Contributions to Climb Higher: Campaign for Scholarship will help support the financial needs of SPS students, expand faculty research awards and named professorships so that SPS can continue to attract and retain outstanding faculty, and provide for continued innovative program development and community education and training programs to meet the needs of business, industry, and the professions.

“Our first annual campaign is vital to the successful growth of SPS and the quality of education and resources we offer our students,” noted Leslie Kerr, Director of Alumni Relations and Development.  “The continued commitment and support of our alumni, faculty, staff, and all friends and supporters of SPS are deeply appreciated.”

Friends of the School of Professional Studies can direct their support to a number of initiatives:

  • The CUNY School of Professional Studies Climb Higher General Scholarship Fund: Each contribution to this Fund will help an SPS student an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate.
  • The CUNY School of Professional Studies Alumni Scholarship Fund: Each contribution to this Fund will help a student pursuing his or her graduate studies at SPS.
  • The CUNY School of Professional Studies Bob Martin Scholarship Fund.

General/unrestricted gifts are welcome, and will be used to support a variety of programs and projects at SPS. Supporters are also invited to establish scholarships in honor or memory of friends or loved ones, by donating $500 or more. Such scholarships may be awarded annually or for one year, and will be designated in accordance with each donor’s wishes.

Gifts may be made online, by mail, or by phone.  Please visit the SPS Web site at www.sps.cuny.edu/alumni, or call the SPS Alumni Relations and Development Office at 212-817-7169 for further information.
