BRONX, N.Y.—NY1 News reporter Dean Meminger will deliver the keynote address at Lehman College’s annual Martin Luther King Jr., Lecture on Tuesday, February 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre. Sponsored by the Urban Male Leadership Program and the Department of African and African American Studies, this event is free and open to the public.
Meminger, a Bronx native, joined NY1 News in 1997. Since then, he has reported on some of the biggest news stories in New York City, including the 9/11 attacks and the police shooting deaths of Amadou Diallo in 1999 and Sean Bell in 2006. He also was on special assignment in Port Au Prince, Haiti, in January 2010, where he covered the relief efforts of New Yorkers after the earthquake.
In addition to his work in television, Meminger can be heard on the radio delivering morning news and commentary as an anchor and correspondent for 98.7 KISS FM’s “Wake-Up Club.” He also has appeared on other radio program for KISS FM, WNYC, 107.5 WBLS and Hot 97.
