The New York State Senate has reappointed Joseph J. Lhota to a seven year term as trustee of the Board. Lhota was first tapped to serve on the board in 2001 by former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. He was reappointed at the request of Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2004 and 2011. The senate reappointed Lhota in June. Lhota chairs the Board’s Committee on Fiscal Affairs and its Sub-committee on Investment.
Lhota is currently Executive Vice President at Madison Square Garden. From 2002 through 2010, he was Executive Vice President at Cablevision Systems Corporation. Lhota was Deputy Mayor for Operations from July 1998 to December 2001. Previously, he served as New York City’s Budget Director and Commissioner of Finance.
