March 16, 2012 | CUNY School of Public Health

Working collaboratively with our NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Professor Lorna Thorpe has received a $3.4 million dollar grant from the de Beaumont Foundation to carry out a health examination survey of New York City adults and the potential utility of Electronic Health Records (EHR) as a method for surveillance of population health. The study will be able to compare the health of New Yorkers from 2004 to 2013 and evaluate the impact that major citywide initiatives launched since 2004 (e.g., trans-fat ban, anti-tobacco initiatives) are having on public health.
