BRONX, N.Y.—The Music Department at Lehman College will debut a series of professional development courses this summer at the undergraduate and graduate level for teachers seeking additional credits for state certification. Titled “Lehman Music Education Symposium,” the complement of courses is approved by New York State for individuals on the “Masters+30” or “Masters+60” salary-increment tracks. Students must register by June 22.
The courses — in band, percussion, music therapy, piano for music teachers, and advanced ear training — are designed for educators interested in expanding their knowledge in new areas. Professional experience in the specific disciplines is not necessary.
