Clips of the Week

August 31, 2012 | CUNY Graduate School of Journalism

Here are some of the fruits of our reporters’ labors to enjoy over the holiday weekend:

•Sean Carlson’s article examining a Bronx land deal made the Mott Haven Herald.

•Jacob Hodes’ story about a law to requiring a public listing of private money donated to city parks found a home in The New York Times.

•Mary Shell reported on plans to rezone Hudson Square for Crain’s New York Business. Meanwhile, Mary teamed with Kenny Christensen on this Crain’s video about efforts to green the city.

•Joanna Fantozzi wrote about the new season of “Doctor Who” for the Daily News.

•The latest on The Local includes contributions by, among others, Erin Horan, Kyle McGovern,  Matthew Perlman, Erica Robinson and Mitch Trinka.

•Geoff Decker, working for GothamSchools, reported on efforts to prevent cheating on standardized tests.

A sampling from our Alumni Corner:

•Carmel Delshad’s pre-convention story chronicling slams on Tampa made WUSF radio.

•Joe Hirsch wrote this opinion piece for The Hunts Point Express about plans to honor musician Arsenio Rodriguez.

•Bobby Melok’s profile of former wrestler Crowbar — now a physical therapist in New Jersey — made WWE Magazine.

•Jordan Shakeshaft’s piece offering feng shui tips was featured on Greatist.com.

•Joe Walker’s story about the trend of “pair programming” – two programmers sharing one desk and one computer – made the front page of The Wall Street Journal.

Congrats to all — and keep ‘em coming!

Cheers,

Jere
