Dr. Heidi Jones publishes: The Acceptability of a Self-Lavaging Device Compared to Pelvic Examination for Cervical Cancer Screening Among Low-Income Women in the Journal of Women’s Health. The authors found that the majority of women from three low income clinics in Northern Manhattan would prefer to use a self-lavaging device over a pelvic examination by a doctor for cervical cancer screening. Self-collection of specimens could increase coverage of cervical cancer screening in the United States.
