The CUNYAC/Applebee's Men's Soccer Quarterfinals featured exciting contests that included one upset and a game that came down to penalty kicks. #5 CSI Dolphins were the first to advance as they upset #4 John Jay 3-0. Top-seeded Baruch then defeated #8 York 3-1. #2 Brooklyn then advanced after winning 2-0 over #7 Hunter. #3 CCNY and the reigning champion #6 Lehman Lightning would finish out the night with CCNY on top. After regulation and double overtime, the Beavers won the game on a 3-0 penalty kick effort. The winners will play in the semifinals on Saturday, October 27th at Randall's Island Soccer Stadium. The championship game is slated for a week later at the same location with the NCAA berth on the line. Last year's finale was one to remember for the ages as Lehman overcame a resilient bunch from Baruch to power their way via penalty kicks to their first ever postseason berth. This time around the Bearcats are the hunted squad as the #1 outfit in the league while Brooklyn, CCNY and CSI will look to take home the crown.
