Bronx, N.Y.—The Lehman Latin Jazz Ensemble will present “Por Primera Vez” on Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m. in the Music Building’s Hearth Room, located on the third floor. The program will feature the music of Tito Puente, Perez Prado, J. J. Johnson, Tito Rodriguez and others. This event is free and open to the community.
In addition, the program will include a performance by vocalist Felix Otero, who will perform Simon Diaz’ “Caballo Viejo” and E. Calindo’s “Malagueña.” Two student singers—Wonkyeong Kim and Kevan Nieratka—will also make their debuts with the ensemble.
Co-directed by Victor Rendon and Armando Rodriguez, the Lehman Latin Jazz Ensemble includes students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members.
A senior college within the City University of New York, Lehman is located at Goulden Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard in the northwest Bronx and is accessible by bus as well as the #4 and “D” subway lines. Parking is available for a $5 fee.
