Distinguished Prof. Robson on Affirmative Action Policies in Education

A Lawyers.com article discussed a federal court throwing out Michigan’s ban on affirmative action in college admissions. The article cites a recent post by Distinguished Professor Ruthann Robson on the Constitutional Law Prof Blog.  A district court had previously upheld the ban, which could be appealed to the United States Supreme Court next.  ”If the United States Supreme Court were to take a very broad approach and declare that all racial affirmative action policies in education were per se unconstitutional, the rationale of [the Michigan decision] would be seriously undermined,” wrote Prof. Robson.

Prof. Robson teaches in the areas of constitutional law, family law, feminist legal theory, and sexuality and the law. She is the author of many articles in such journals as New York Law School Journal of Human Rights, Albany Law Review, Women’s Rights Law Reporter, Hastings Law Journal, Australian Feminist Law Journal, and Yearbook of New Zealand Jurisprudence.
