The CUNYAC team experienced an impressive first day at the 2013 NCAA Convention. With a morning of educational sessions on LGBTQ inclusion on college campuses, as well as rules and NCAA compliance, the afternoon luncheon presented a program on Diversity and Inclusion. Sponsored by the NCAA and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), the keynote speaker was Bonnie St. John, a celebrated paralympian and businesswoman, who spoke about her journey in intercollegiate and paralympic athletics and her story of inclusion. "Bonnie's story is such an inspiration - for women and for minorities. Her speech really made me think in new ways about these issues," commented Dalliana Touissant a senior volleyball student-athlete at CCNY.
