Entrepreneurial Project One of TIME’s 50 Best Websites in 2013

Narratively, an in-depth storytelling platform developed by 2012 CUNY J-School Entrepreneurial Journalism Fellow Noah Rosenberg, has been named one of TIME’s 50 Best Websites of 2013.

A post on the TIME site described the No. 6 website pick as follows: “At a time when the percentage of articles longer than 2,000 words in national newspapers has plummeted, Narratively sets a different theme each week and publishes one in-depth local story a day around that idea. Its strategy is designed to “slow down the news cycle” and focus on stories about people you don’t hear about every day—from female taxi drivers to a gay male escort. Text is broken up by bold, full-screen images and mini-documentaries to take full advantage of the innovative possibilities of Internet storytelling.”

Narratively got its start with the help of $6,500 in seed funding from the CUNY J-School’s Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism along with nearly $54,000 raised in a Kickstarter campaign.
