Congratulations on the wonderful recognition of the School of Education in the recent National Council on Teacher Quality and U.S. News & World Report ratings of teacher preparation programs.
To see the program highlighted as having all five of its scored programs in the 96th percentile or higher nationwide, and as “the only institution that has three highly rated programs,” is an incredible testament to your commitment and success as educators, and the effective leadership of Dean David Steiner. We are proud that Hunter’s undergraduate elementary school teacher preparation received the highest score awarded for any such program, and that only a few programs scored higher than ours in graduate, elementary, secondary, and special education.
These statistics come as no surprise, however, as they are a reflection of the preparation and passion that you bring to your classrooms and your dedication to shaping the next generation of extraordinary educators. Congratulations again on the acknowledgement of the Hunter College School of Education as one of the highest quality programs nationwide. Thank you for all you do to make Hunter an exemplary institution.
