NEW YORK, NY – August 6, 2013 –For the sixth consecutive year, Baruch College has been named one of the country’s best institutions for undergraduate education by The Princeton Review, which features Baruch College in the new 2014 edition of its annual college guide, “The Best 378 Colleges.”
Only about 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is The Princeton Review’s flagship college guide. It includes detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores for all schools in eight categories, plus ranking lists of top 20 schools in the book in 62 categories based on The Princeton Review’s surveys of students attending the colleges.
In the survey, students said the Zicklin School of Business offers a “very demanding business-oriented program that provides a great education…” and is easy for go-getters to access “unparalleled internships, career, and networking opportunities to major global companies’ headquarters.” Location and affordability were key factors for students to choose Baruch College citing Baruch’s connections and internships, because they provide “a gateway to the world of finance,” and its affordability recognizing that “tuition is about one-fourth what it is at NYU,” making it “the best college value in New York City.”
The survey also reported Baruch’s “hardworking” student body could well be “the most diverse university in the country.” It’s the sort of place where “You can eat samosas on Tuesday, mooncakes on Wednesday, and falafel on Thursdays for free because of all the cultural events that are held.” Students brag that “hundreds of countries are represented in our student body” and note that “The one common thread would be we are mostly business-oriented and have jobs/internships outside of school.”
Baruch College also ranked #14 in the GOT MILK? category; #17 in the SCOTCH AND SODA, HOLD THE SCOTCH category; and #14 in the DON’T INHALE category.
