The CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) is delighted to announce that it has begun accepting applications to its online Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (R.N. to B.S.N.) program for Spring 2014.

The R.N. to B.S.N. program provides registered nurses with the academic credential necessary to help them advance in the field. Through the flexibility of online study, students of this program build on prior knowledge gained at the associate’s degree level, and explore pressing issues related to today’s changing global healthcare environment. The program is designed to assist students in developing intellectual curiosity and a spirit of inquiry essential to professional development.

Dedicated CUNY faculty and expert practitioners draw on the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to help students develop and demonstrate competency in:

• Health assessment
• Leadership and management
• Nursing research
• Care of culturally diverse populations
• Global Health and policy issues

The online B.S.N. program prepares licensed registered nurses to assume leadership positions in hospitals, community agencies, and long-term care facilities across the metropolitan area and beyond. Students gain the tools needed to meet the challenges of the evolving healthcare system, as well as the knowledge and experience required to move forward into graduate level studies and advanced practice nursing.

Like other intuitions at CUNY, the School of Professional Studies offers the CUNY value: high-quality, affordable academic programs, award-winning faculty, and 21st-century technology leading to further academic advancement and real-world, in-demand jobs.
