NEW YORK, NY – September 17, 2013 – Baruch College is ranked #3 in “The Future Zuckerbergs” 2013 College Rankings conducted by HerCampus.com. This list recognizes the schools that support “their Zuckerbergs-in-the-making and boast a roster of successful alumni who made it big in the risky business of start-up companies.”
Besting Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and others, Baruch College was recognized for ensuring “its students have fine-tuned their business know-how before jumping into the real world.”
The College earned high marks for:
- The establishment of a joint Business Ph.D. degree program that will now include the Baruch College name, alongside CUNY’s Graduate Center.
- Zicklin School of Business’ bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in entrepreneurship, earning national recognition by The Princeton Review in its “Top 25 Undergraduate Programs for Entrepreneurship.”
- Preparing students for start-up success in local business contests, by offering opportunities such as fast pitch competitions, where students have a short amount of time to present their company to investors. (22 percent of recent graduates start their own business soon after graduation.)
- Going above and beyond to foster a strong entrepreneurial community for students with resources like Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, where student entrepreneurs can seek support from other students and faculty from the Zicklin School of Business, among other alumni and volunteers.
