NEW YORK, NY- September 20, 2013 – The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College is hosting its annual Financial Markets Conference on October 8. This year’s conference, “Market Integrity: Do Our Equity Markets Pass the Test?” features several panel discussions and key presentations.
The integrity of our equity markets has received much attention due to the number of sharp intra-day price swings in recent years. This conference will focus on how market integrity is impacted by a spectrum of market structure issues, including system reliability, inter-market competition, fragmentation, transparency, and fairness. Panels will examine the integrity of price discovery from the perspective of exchanges and customers, as well as the integrity of a marketplace and of market regulation.
Speiser Professor of Finance Robert Schwartz will give opening remarks. Other addresses will be given by Huseyin Erkan, CEO of World Federation of Exchanges, who will discuss a global perspective; and Andrew Brooks, Vice President and Head of U.S. Equity Trading, T. Rowe Price Associates, who will give a traders perspective. Andreas Preuss, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Börse AG will give the luncheon address.
The event is co-sponsored by BATS Exchange; BIDS Trading; Bloomberg Tradebook LLC; Chicago Board Options Exchange; Deutsche Borse AG; Direct Edge; International Securities Exchange; ITG Inc.; Liquidnet: Nasdaq OMX; NYSE Euronext; PDQ ATS Inc.; Tabb Group.
