BACKGROUND: With over 40% of its 100,000 alumni residing in the borough, Queens College proudly welcomes back one who went West: Hollywood movie producer Alan Siegel ’73, who will discuss the many stages of his Hollywood career on Sunday, October 20, as the homecoming keynote speaker. Siegel’s many credits include the movies Olympus Has Fallen, Playing for Keeps, Machine Gun Preacher, and Law Abiding Citizen.

Singer, reality show star, and pop icon Cyndi Lauper, will perform her hits and songs from her Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots. Lauper, a Queens native, will return to the borough for her only hometown show. This tour marks the 30th anniversary of Lauper’s hit album, She’s So Unusual, and the last time Lauper will sing pop classics like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time” live in their entirety.

In addition, the college will host a carnival on the Quad with games, activities, and amusements.  Students will perform excerpts from South Pacific; faculty members will present the college’s international programs; and the Dept. of Athletics will host a tailgating party and soccer scrimmage.

General Admission tickets include all events, a luncheon, and a closing reception. The “All Event Package” includes the general admission ticket and mezzanine concert tickets to Cyndi Lauper’s concert.
