Medgar Evers College Concludes Hispanic Heritage Month with a Distinguished Panel of Experts

Medgar Evers College concludes National Hispanic Heritage Month with a panel discussion featuring some of the leading Latino leaders of our day. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, Dr. Arlene Torres, Director of the City University of New York Chancellor’s Latino Faculty Initiative, will host a talk on “The State of Latino Studies at MEC and CUNY.”

From the period of September 15 to October 15, Americans recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans and celebrate the group’s heritage and culture. Hosted by the Medgar Evers College Association of Latin American Studies (ALAS), the month-long celebration focused on multiple themes all geared at providing educational opportunities for students of color.
