Recently, Hostos Community College President Félix V. Matos Rodríguez was appointed to the boards of the following three organizations: the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC); Phipps Houses; and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
BOEDC has helped hundreds of companies take advantage of the unique benefits associated with a Bronx location. Its team of professionals work with clients to identify the ideal site; find low-cost financing; maximize federal, state and city incentives; obtain energy discount; recruit the right employees; and cut through red tape along the way.
Phipps Houses is the oldest and largest not-for-profit developer, owner, and manager of affordable housing in New York City. Its social affiliate, Phipps Community Development Corporation, offers more than 30 education, job-readiness, recreation and civic engagement programs to help New Yorkers build better lives for themselves, their families, and the community.
CFR is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries. Founded in 1921, CFR takes no institutional positions on matters of policy. It publishes Foreign Affairs, the preeminent journal of international affairs and U.S. foreign policy.
