January 31, 2014 | Medgar Evers College
The Medgar Evers College (MEC) Pipeline Initiative is now accepting applications for the new Blast program. The program gives students aged 13 and up vital enrichment in a number of areas and helps foster a greater interest in college-going by placing them in a higher education environment. Students will be exposed to a variety of disciplines and fields, including medicine, robotics, world history, drawing and animation, cooking and more.
The program will welcome students twice this spring, Saturday, March 15th and Saturday, April 5th for a day of immersion in a college environment. Students will take classes led by trained instructors on the MEC campus and lunch will be available at a discounted rate in the campus dining hall. Classes will be held from 8:30am to 4:00pm both Saturdays, of which, students should choose one for participation. Registration is $20 and parental permission is required for all students under 18 years of age.
For more information on the Blast program, including how to register, contact Dr. Evelyn Castro at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 718-270-6174.
