Every writer needs a proofreader. Whether you are in the brainstorming phase of an assignment or whether you are requesting a second pair of eyes on a final term paper, the Medgar Evers College Writing Center is here to assist. Centrally-located in the heart of campus, in the Bedford Building, a team of qualified tutors and support staff are available to support you in all stages of the writing process.
The Medgar Evers Writing Center offers small group workshops and one-on-one tutoring services for students across all disciplines. It provides a comfortable and supportive academic environment where students can feel free to engage in an array of conversations and/or activities that focus on reading, writing, and critical analysis. Our professional team of tutors has been trained to help students identify and respond to the various types of writing assignments that they will encounter throughout their years of undergraduate study. All subject areas are supported.
The Center also offers help with graduate school applications and more. All students are encouraged to come prepared with a copy of an assignment along with a working draft and should plan to spend 15–45 minutes working with a tutor.
