Statement from Interim Chancellor William Kelly on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s State of the City Address at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY

February 10, 2014 | The University

“We commend Mayor de Blasio  on his “State of the City” address delivered today at La Guardia Community College of The City University of New York. His comprehensive jobs plan for the next generation of New Yorkers, one which will call upon the resources of the City University, is encouraging in both its range and its depth.   The mayor’s pledge to expand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and health care training is of particular significance. We look forward to supporting those initiatives through the CUNY School of Public  Health,  our network of allied health education programs, and CUNY research facilities throughout the five boroughs.  We embrace with enthusiasm the opportunity to work with the mayor, the city council and every level of government to advance the aspirations of all New Yorkers.”
