Art Auction Online Bids Open Until March 17th

Although Black History Month is over, the Medgar Evers College (MEC) Student Scholarship Fund is still accepting online bids for the 2014 Art Auction.  Bids will be accepted until midnight, March 17th at   Minimum bid is $350 (w/reserve) for each painting.  Bids must include your name, address and phone number.  Please include the name of the artwork and the amount of the bid in US Dollars.  Payment is due in full at time that bid is accepted.  Winners will be announced March 31st.

Willie Torbert was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1959. He studied art at the Pratt Institute, City College of New York, and Medgar Evers College.  Before becoming a full-time artist, Torbert taught art in the New York Public School system for ten years.

Donovan Nelson: was born in Manchester, Jamaica, WI. He relocated to the U.S. in 1982 where he discovered that he had an ability to draw. He attended the University of the Art in Philadelphia, PA, where he majored in illustration and did additional studies in portraiture and figure painting at the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
