Medgar Evers College Goes Green

March 3, 2014 | Medgar Evers College

MEC Go GreenMedgar Evers College (MEC) and Campus Planning are excited to announce the “MEC Quad” initiative. On March 12th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, MEC students, faculty and staff are invited to an Open House in Room L-12 (Art Gallery) to find out more about this Green initiative that reimagines Crown Street, between Bedford Avenue and Franklin Avenue, as a Campus Quad. With green space, seating areas, and a promenade for students to walk through, the Quad will allow for a more united, safer, and greener Medgar Evers College.

The Open House will include guests MEC President Rudolph F. Crew, City University of New York Vice Chancellor Iris Weinshall, landscape designers, traffic and safety specialists, and student ambassadors. There will also be a detailed traffic study presentation from a traffic expert in EOJ at 11:30 am.

Get your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions heard by participating in this open forum. The Open House will also include giveaways, and other “Green” treats that will get everyone in the Quad spirit!
