CITY UNIVERSITY FILM FESTIVAL SET FOR MARCH 23
RED CARPET EVENT PREMIERS WINNING FILMS
WHAT: Winners of the sixth annual official City University Film Festival (CUFF) at Macaulay Honors College will be announced at CUNY’s “red carpet” gala event on March 23rd.
The creative and emerging works by aspiring filmmakers represent an array of genres and are submitted by students, alumni, faculty and staff from across CUNY. Winning films, selected by a festival jury, will be announced and screened. The directors of the top three award-winning films will be introduced to receive their award and have the opportunity to answer questions from the audience.
The winning film from the 2009 festival, Rediscovering Pape, directed by City College student Maria Royo, went on to win a student Academy Award at the 2010 Oscars ceremony. Winners in previous years have had their films shown on PBS’s Reel 13 program and received prizes from past Festival Supporting Sponsors, including HBO and B&H (Photo/Video/Pro Audio).
WHEN: Sunday, March 23rd from 6:00-10:30 pm
WHERE: Macaulay Honors College, 35 West 67th Street
CUNY CAMPUS NEWSPAPERS: A press table reserved for CUNY campus newspaper reporters and photographers will be designated to make coverage of the event easy and accessible for the evening.
