Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP)

Starting this summer, Medgar Evers College(MEC) will launch the highly-successful and nationally-acclaimed Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP).  The ASAP program is designed to serve as a key pathway to baccalaureate programs for MEC students currently enrolled in one of our multiple Associate Degree programs.

Key ASAP features include: required full-time enrollment, block scheduling, intrusive personalized advisement, a student success seminar, career services and tutoring.  Additional student benefits include free monthly MetroCards, free use of textbooks, summer and winter courses at no cost, tuition waivers for eligible students (any gap in financial aid is covered), and an ASAP-wide student leadership program.

To be eligible for ASAP, current MEC students must meet the following criteria:

  • New York City Residency
  • Below 15 credits
  • Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Receive Pell and/or TAP
