Empowering Students with Civic Engagement
NEW YORK, NY- May 15, 2014 –Baruch College’s Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management and the Office of Academic Programs invite you to its upcoming roundtable, Empowering Students with Civic Engagement on Tuesday, May 20.
In a roundtable discussion led by Jerry Mitchell, Associate Dean of Baruch College’s School of Public Affairs, local community organizations will explore the role of civic engagement and nonprofit leadership in New York City’s college readiness programs. They will also discuss how to cultivate an interest in public service, and how to connect students with careers through a public affairs degree.
CUNY and Baruch representatives will be present to provide a university perspective. Participants include Baruch’s Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs program CORO, New York Cares, Inc., The Urban Assembly, SEO Scholars, Global Potential, Breakthrough New York, MASA, CUNY Admissions, CUNY Service Corps., Macaulay Honors College, Baruch Admissions, Baruch Advisement, Baruch School of Public Affairs, SEEK, and College Now.
The Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management prepares students for careers in nonprofit organizations to increase the expertise of those individuals leading and managing in the nonprofit sector of New York City.
