Calling all singers! Audition for the Medgar Evers College (MEC) choir and showcase your talent! Professor Glenn McMillan, Director of Choral & Vocal Music at Medgar Evers College, cordially invites all singers to audition as he prepares for the 2014-2015 academic year. The group’s repertoire will consist of classical, gospel, jazz and spiritual selections.
While you’re at the audition event, be sure to congratulate Professor McMillan on his recently released, debut album “Anyhow”. Featuring the Imani Singers of Brooklyn, New York, the album contains all original works and Professor McMillan composed and orchestral-arranged every selection.
For over seventeen years Professor McMillan has served on the faculty of the Department of Mass Communications, Creative and Performing Arts, and Speech at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York teaching vocal, choral and world music courses and also the unit director. A specialist in the performing arts, he has studied and performed several operatic roles such as Aida, Porgy and Bess, Marriage of Figaro, La Traviata as well as a full repertoire of oratorio works. In addition to his hectic teaching schedule he travels extensively coaching vocal and choral master classes, choral festival adjudicators and several workshop and lectures.
